LIBERTY HILL NEWS

SUNDAY IS THE DAY, LIBERTY HILL!

We are just a few days away from our quarterly “Coffee with Pastor Eric” event! We invite those that are new to Liberty Hill to join us this Sunday at 9:30AM in the Bride’s Room, where you can connect with Pastor Eric and other folks new to Liberty Hill over a cup of coffee or tea. This is a great opportunity to learn more about our church family and to get your questions answered. We hope to see you there! To attend, please RSVP via email to Teresa Abernathy at ttabernathy@gmail.com.

Volunteers Needed for Foster Family Night

You can volunteer to support foster parents through assisting with watching and engaging with their kids. We will be working together with Goshen Homes and occasionally Cherokee County DFACS. Activities will be provided for the kids which will be a fun and rewarding experience. For more information or to sign up, click here.

TIMBERS ON ETOWAH PHOTOSHOOT HELP

Timbers on Etowah is our Special Event Venue whose revenue helps offset our rent here at the Mill. Raquel Bustos, our venue manager, needs help preparing for a professional photoshoot on Friday, August 23rd. If you can give some time during that week to prep the space or if you have any questions about it, please contact Raquel at raquel@timbersonetowah.com or 404.444.6335. Any helping hands will be appreciated and specifically if you can sew drapery, install bolts and cabling, or help set tables, chairs and decor. Come see Timbers in action on that Friday as the models, photographers, caterers, clothiers, and jewelers show off what Timbers can do!

Homeless Coalition Meal Kits

We are going to pack meal kits as an act of worship on Sunday, August 25 for the guests of the Homeless Coalition of Cherokee County. All items must be nonperishable and individual servings.

Here’s a list:

  • individual rice packs, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn (NOTE: sides are most needed!)
  • breakfast bars, oatmeal packets
  • soup cups, Hormel “completes”, mac ’n cheese cups
  • popcorn, fruit cups, granola bars, cookies, chips, pudding cups, fruit snacks
  • spoons and forks

NEW LIBERTY HILL FACILITY CARE TEAM

As we grow, we are forming a new critical ministry team at Liberty Hill: The Facility Care Team. If you are looking for a way to pitch in your time and abilities, consider this team that will work with the church Trustees to address maintenance, repair, and upgrade needs in our amazing space here at The Mill. While solid home repair skills are a plus, that is not required as we typically coordinate with contractors as needed to ensure that our space best facilities ministry. If this need is calling your name or if you have follow up questions, please contact our Trustee Chair, Steve Piper, at steve.piper@comcast.net.

WOMEN’S MINISTRY DINNER – August 22

Join us for our Women’s Ministry Dinner every 4th Thursday at 6PM at Nina’s Pizza Kitchen in Canton. This is a great time for fellowship, food, and the best pizza in town!

PRAYER & CARE TEAM

Did you know we have a team of people who pray for the concerns and needs that are shared with our church? We are expanding this team to include people who would be willing to reach out to new folks and existing members to say hello and check on each other. You can contact our Prayer & Care Team Coordinator, Brian McEwan, if you are interested or have questions. Thank you for your interest in being the church for each other and for our community in this way!
